Microsoft recently announced the details for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2022 release wave 1 which was launched at the end of April. 

From our point of view, the new release brings many useful features which focus on improving the productivity of daily routine in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Here are the best features which you should be aware of!

  1. Design own layouts for reports
    Only 5 steps are needed to connect the data list from Business Central with your design of diagrams, slides, and charts. The final layout in Excel can be downloaded to Business Central so users can display their reports to find the data they need at a glance.

  2. Add email attachments straight from Outlook
    Thanks to the Outlook add-on, you can newly create a new order or download the attachments from the received email to the card of the exact customer or connect with another entity in Business Central. All documents such as invoices, Excel, or Word sheets could be connected from Outlook to Business Central. 

  3. Share online documents with your colleagues
    Microsoft extended the possibility of sharing the documents on OneDrive. On every attachment in Business Central, the share button automatically downloads the document to your OneDrive environment and automatically offers you the possibility to share the link of this document with your colleagues.

  4. Control your performance
    The performance profiler feature helps you to identify the weak point in your system. Run the profiler, do the action (for example post invoice) and check which modules and add-ons are affected by this action, and measure which part of the action takes the most time. That is the point where your IT team should focus to speed up.

  5. Power Automate Flow
    This feature will be launched in release in May. You can define your own workflow which can be run manually, for example on the customer card. Power Automate Flow is absolutely the app whose impact is so worth it to check.
